what a day, What a day!I am so frazzled, and it is not even close to being funny anymore. This morning, my dear mother forgot to set her alarm clock! Lucky for us (but then again- I don't believe in luck, only God could have planned this one, lol)- I forgot to save my English lit essay to my jump drive.Sounds crazy, right?Nope! It's just crazy enough to be lucky!!!I was going to save it last night, but by the time I remembered, I had already shut my lap top down. So, being tired *cough* lazy *cough*, I simply set my alarm for 7:45. It would go off and remind me to save the essay. So, at 7:45, my alarm went off and woke me and my dear mother up from our sweet slumber. I knew from the start that something was off b/c....
I was well rested- when does that happen?
It was waaay too light outside to be the normal 6:00 AM wake up call
My mom was FREAKING OUT.
So, our morning was spent in frantic movements about the house, chatter that was spit out at the speed of light, and the occasional yell down or up the stairs, that of course, being an immediate 'friendly' order for an object, that being a water bottle, a bar, a school sock, or some other random object.
By the time we left the house, I and my dear mother were very frustrated.
"I HATE mornings like this!"- she proclaimed. As if I couldn't tell already, my dear mother. lol.
We both hate morning like that.
So, we took off- first stop? Kinko’s! As we pulled up to the establishment, I quickly put on my fuzzy gloves (from wal mart!), and clutched my jump drive. As I breezed through the door, I could not help but smile.
Don, of course, was at the back working on one of the, I can only assume, printers.
Now, you may ask why I mentioned his name.
Well, Don is a very nice gentleman, who works the morning shift at Kinko’s. Seeing as I do not have a printer, I would go to Kinko’s on the morning that a project was due and I would have it printed from my jump drive.
Don- of course- works the morning shift. I've gotten to know him, and he has gotten to know me.
He was a fire man for 20 years, and has been working at Kinko’s for some time now.
He NEVER lets me pay for my prints- ever. He told me one morning, as I smiled up at him and tilted my head towards my purse,
"Well Miss, the day you come in with say....10 copies to be printed, I'll charge you then". That was very kind of him, seeing that I come in maybe 2 times a week, making it 5+ prints a week.
And this has been going on for a month and a half at the least.
Well, this morning I rushed in and called out a friendly "hello"
He lifted his head and threw me a smile, and walked up to the counter."what shall we print today miss?""My passion" I told me. He went the back once more, and inserted the jump drive. This is where my morning seemed to take another turn for the worse, for he couldn't get the printer to work. When he did, he printed out 8 copies!!! No big deal, but what happened next was.He took my jump drive out of the commuter, and I saw that something was still in there, but shook my head. I don't know much about computers, so it's probably nothing. When he handed it to me, I saw that part of my jump drive was.....GONE!I looked up at him and said "Um, where the rest of it?" He gave me a confused look and took my jump drive back. He found the rest of my jump drive in the computer and tried to fix it, to no avail.I attempted to take it back as I said "Don't worry about it, I bought that thing when I was in 8th grade, and I'm a junior now. It was getting old, and it wasn't your fault."He insisted upon trying to fix it, and he said he would talk to his manager. If they couldn't fix it- he'd replace it. I refused, that was to generous of him. But he is quite stubborn on things like these.I smiled and said thank you. He nodded and bid me good bye.Our next stop was brenna’s. I'm going to make the rest of my day a long story short.
· in attempt to pull into her drive way, we almost missed it!
· in attempt to grab my mothers water bottle, I almost dropped it
· in attempt to put my cell phone in my coat pocked, I did drop that
Its like the world was against me.
The rest of the day was ok, but b/c of that morning, I was in a frazzled state.
I had to finish up some home work, do a little bit of studying, and I had to read a chapter that I had forgotten about. I soon realized that I would be hard pressed to do all of that in two study halls periods. This was NOT my day!
Then, on top of it, one of my teachers said I shouldn't be so sensitive to my school mates when they make comments about me! UGH! He was being a bit of a jerk, and even my sharp reply held some humor in it.
Then, when I went upstairs, I dropped one of my books, and papers went flying. Then, Eric, one of the Buel kids, bent down and picked it up for me.
I cried! I mean not big sobs and things like that, but maybe 5 tears. He gave me a sympathetic smile and I said "it's been a ruff day"
Then, in art class, I was reprimanded for not having references when I had no way to get them.
It was a ruff day!!
Well, now that the day is over, I am in a better mood. Tomorrow, my class has our service project- raking leaves!
And I get to go to fit works tonight; I'm doing strength training for today. I joined last Friday =)
So that should help my mood! =D
