Homecoming was a lot of fun this year, which surprised me. Our homecomings are known for their lame themes, then- our ok-ish food, and to top it off- over-all boring-ness. This year, I did not go with a date, making it the first year that I was 'on my own'.
I wasn't to thrilled with the idea. But I went b/c...
- my friends wanted me to go
- my mother wanted me to go in the WORST way
- AND I wanted to prove that I didn't need a guy on my arm to have a good time
Homecoming morning was very....how shall we put this nicely?....a bit hectic. To start things off, I was in a chilled out mood and I wasn't worried about the time.
My dear mother on the other hand, was quite the opposite. I was trying to get everything together, and I could NOT seem to find these bobbie pins that had jewels on them. As it turned out, I had put them in the cabinet when I was cleaning the day before. Needless to say, when my mother and I left the house that morning, we were both a tad bit frazzled.
Our first stop was Giant Eagle. There, we picked up my corsage, which, IMO, turned out beautifully. We were late for my hair app., and had them keep my corsage in the fridge so it wouldn't 'die'.
Then we left to go to my aunts to get my make up done- BUT, we had to turn back b/c we forgot to get my corsage! So we were running later then we were before.
My aunt told us to meet her at their home in Chesterland, so we were on our way there. And we called her to say we were getting close.
As it turns out- she SaId that she told us we were to meet her at the condo in mentor! So that put us behind as well....
Oh, and did I tell you that my digital camera broke that very same day???? Yeah, it was a hectic day.
So, after my aunt Diana did my make up (beautifully I might add), we left for my grandparents house for pictures.
Tanyh (a friend of mine from my church, CLC) is a wonderful photographer and offered to take the photos for the day! So we were saved!!! ON TOP OF IT- she wouldn't even let us pay her. She told us that a friend had given her the film b/c God led them to do so, even if they didn't know why. So someone blessed her, so she blessed us!
But then, we realized that we forgot the corsage at aunt Diana's condo so my mom ran back for it.
So, Tanyh took her pics and then she left. Jaime (a friend of mine from school) came over to take pics with us, so that was cool.
I'll make this a two part post seeing as I don't have time to finish it up. So long!!
